About us

North London Action for the Homeless (NLAH) is a charity that runs a drop-in centre based in Stoke Newington (N16) for the homeless and those in needy circumstances. We are funded solely by donations and rely on volunteers to operate.

NLAH St Paul's Church Dinner table at NLAH

Opening times

NLAH opens twice a week (Monday lunch: 12.00pm – 1.30pm, and Wednesday supper: 7.00pm -8.30pm) and provides a three-course vegetarian meal consisting of thick soup, bread and butter, main course, dessert and tea or coffee. Our visitors sit at six-seater tables which are laid with table-cloths, napkins, cutlery and crockery. The meals are served at the tables by our volunteers. We provide take-away food and clothing upon request.

NLAH is visited periodically by a Health Access Worker. We have a hairdresser who regularly volunteers and Eastern European outreach workers, a TB specialist, Drug and Alcohol workers and hopefully a chiropodist will be joining us soon.

Help the homeless in North London

Please contact us if you would like to volunteer to help for an hour or two, weekly or occasionally. We particularly need people on Monday lunchtimes. As well as volunteering, you can also donate food, clothing and services. Find out how you can help.

We are a registered charity (1032580).
